A cookie is a file that is downloaded to your computer when you access certain web pages. Cookies allow a website, among others, to store and retrieve information about the browsing habits of a user or their equipment and, depending on the information they contain and the way you use your equipment, they can be used to recognize to user.<\/p>

The user's browser stores cookies on the hard drive only during the current session; these take up minimal memory space and do not harm the computer. Cookies do not contain any specific personal information, and most are deleted from the hard drive at the end of the browser session (so-called session cookies).<\/p>

Most browsers accept cookies as standard and, regardless of these, in the security settings they allow or prevent temporary or memorized cookies.<\/p>

Depending on the entity that manages the domain from which the cookies are sent and that processes the data obtained, two types of cookies can be distinguished: own cookies and third-party cookies. There is also a second classification according to the length of time they remain stored in the client's browser, and in this case they can be session cookies or persistent cookies. Finally, there is another classification with five types of cookies depending on the purpose for which the data obtained is processed: technical cookies, personalization cookies, analysis cookies, advertising cookies and behavioral advertising cookies.
